The conference will be arranged in the city of Pori.
The planned location is in
Sokos Hotel Vaakuna
which is situated in the heart of Pori. We suggest you to book room in this
hotel. The special rates for ITA2009 guests are 88 €/ single room / night and
108 €/ double room / night. Rates include buffet breakfast. Email the hotel and
tell you are coming to ITA2009.

The evening
events
The get-together is on
26th at 8 pm in City hall. We shall meet at the lobby of the Hotel
Vaakuna about 10-5 minutes before that time and walk together to City hall (5 minutes away).
On 27th bus
starts from Hotel Vaakuna at 7 pm on 27th. The visit will take in
Villa Mairea with its unique architecture created by the world famous Finnish
architect Alvar Aalto, who designed the building and its surroundings in
1939. Villa Mairea has a collection of Finnish and international modern
art and a number of famous
Artek furniture pieces designed by Alvar
Aalto himself. Then, after visiting Villa Mairea, a bus will drive you
to the unique archipelago village of Reposaari. This is an old
fishermen’s village on the Gulf of Bothnia at the mouth of the River
Kokemäenjoki. There the conference quests will enjoy a dinner in the
handsome maritime surroundings of Restaurant
Merimesta. After the dinner
there will be a short tour of Yyteri. Yyteri has one of Finland’s most
beautiful beaches and has six kilometres of fine sand and dunes to
wander along. Return to Hotel Vaakuna in Pori will be sometime around 11
pm.

evening and bus transportation.
